Solidanza 2011 is on its way! Following the success of previous editions, Solidanza will be travelling to three cities this year. On Friday 25 and Saturday 26 November we will be putting on a music quiz, party and T Dance in the Belvédère and the Théatre de Namur in Namur. On Sunday 27 November we will be throwing an Inclusive Ball at the Vooruit in Ghent. And in Brussels, on 3 December, we will be celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by holding a T Dance, Sol’ y Danza Ball and Sol’ y Danza party at the Bozar.

Solidanza is all about great music, fabulous locations and wild audiences. And every step is a step danced for a great cause, because the money generated by the event goes to Handicap International projects in the Third World.

Young and old, experienced dancers, enthusiastic beginners, people in wheelchairs… everyone is welcome! If you don’t fancy dancing, just come along to watch the dancers and savour the fabulous atmosphere.

You do the dancing - your friends do the sponsoring

Do you love dancing? Or would you like to get more actively involved in helping the groups targeted by Handicap International? Then take up one of our dancing challenges and get your friends and family to sponsor you. Last year people danced on skates and in flippers - someone even managed to change dance partners every 60 seconds.

Can you think up an original challenge? It could win you a trip to Cambodia! The person who collects the most money will be given the opportunity to accompany Handicap International on a visit to projects in the field.

Become a volunteer

We are looking for volunteers in each city to help with promotion, assistance during the event (reception, checking the dance challenges...), the logistics (setting up the hall...) and entertainment for the kiddies’ corner. We are also looking for people in Brussels to help teach the dance steps during the Sol’ y Danza Ball. Interested? Please mail sophie.clesse@handicap.be.
