Haiti one year on: What has been achieved so far and what lies ahead

One year after Haiti was hit by a devastating earthquake on 12th January 2010, Handicap International is reviewing its work in support of the country’s most vulnerable people.

The biggest deployment in our history saw a team of 540 people, including 60 expatriates, on the ground in Haiti. Through earthquakes, storms, cholera, and electoral violence, Haiti has suffered an endless series of emergencies this year. We are committed to continuing our efforts in the country over the next three to five years to help secure its recovery.
