Since the founding of our organisation, rehabilitation has been a key part of our work. We provide specialist care for those suffering from congenital impairments (e.g. club foot), those affected by disabling diseases (polio, leprosy), diseases affecting muscle control and those who are victims of trauma.
To ensure the comprehensive care of patients, Handicap International has supported or set up rehabilitation centres. The centres provides a number of complimentary services, such as providing quality physiotherapy for patients, supplying orthopaedic equipment and walking aids, and ensuring the ongoing training of physiotherapists and orthopaedic technicians.
