Sladjan is organizing a regional meeting that will take pace in Nis in May 2011 to commemorate 12 years since the bombing of civilians in Nis by cluster munitions. Participants from several neighboring countries, Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia and Macedonia are expected to attend this meeting, which will be held on 11th May. The commemoration of 12 years since the bombing of civilians of Nis by cluster munitions will be held on 12th May 2011.
The project has two main objectives: working with campaigners from neighboring countries, local authorities and local victim associations to share their experience on victim assistance plans and to push Serbia to join the Convention on Cluster Munitions through public awareness and media coverage.
On the 17th and 18th of March, Sladjan announced the organization of this meeting to the media and took the opportunity to recall Serbia to join the Convention on Cluster Munitions. Sladjan had a lot of media contact during those two days. He answered questions from four TV programs directly (TV5, Zona, Kopernikus, and Niska Televizida) and did interviews with at least 5 journalists from different newspapers, such as Pravada, Blic and Danas. He was able to work with both local and national media sources.
Congratulations to Sladjan and his team members for working hard on this project.
